Your Speaker and Facilitator

Ariel Clifton, CFEI (she/her) is a certified financial education instructor. She has spent over 23 years in higher education, working in student program development, student housing, career & academic counseling.

She works at Glendale Community College (GCC) in Arizona, where she is the mind and voice behind GCC’s financial education program, and has spearheaded the Be A Smart Borrower campaign to help students stay on track to graduate while avoiding being overburdened by student debt.

Ariel works with community college students from a wide age range, helping students with smarter borrowing and money know-how. Ariel is an example of persisting through depression and anxiety to come out on the other side knowing personally how mental/emotional resiliency and financial education improves lives while unleashing us to help create a better world.

Ariel graduated among the top of her class at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). She’s passionate about breaking generational legacies of being broke and miserable and has been on a quest to figure out how people can live better. In a world where we all want more out of life, Ariel has figured out why we wind up with more of what we don’t want, like stress, debt and clutter and how we can shift to have more of what we actually want.

At a time when environmental concerns are causing increased anxiety levels, she has a much needed message that embracing optimism and financial empowerment can have ripple effects for a better world.

When she’s not working, Ariel is a dog mom and devoted aunt to two adopted nieces who have both managed to get their degrees with little to no debt.
